Position Summary:

The primary objective of the Senior Spiritual Care Provider is to deliver spiritual and religious support to residents, adhering to all relevant federal, state, and local regulations, and as directed by the Director of Spiritual Life.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate worship services and spiritual development activities that cater to diverse faith traditions.
  • Conduct regular religious services for residents.
  • Maintain and submit documentation of pastoral activities as required, ensuring inclusion in residents' medical records.
  • Provide spiritual assistance to residents and staff during times of crisis, grief, and loss.
  • Perform religious rites, including communion and funerals, as requested.
  • Support dying residents in fulfilling their needs and preserving their dignity.
  • Visit hospitalized residents as necessary and communicate with their respective pastors upon request.
  • Foster meaningful pastoral relationships by engaging with residents on a regular basis.
  • Participate in various committees or workgroups as assigned.
  • Assist leadership in creating a warm, welcoming, and positive environment throughout the community.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Human Services field and a Master of Divinity or equivalent.
  • Ordained and in good standing with an ecclesiastical body.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in pastoral ministry, particularly with the elderly population.
  • Certification from the Association of Professional Chaplains is preferred.
  • Must be ordained in accordance with state laws.
