Position Overview:

Emergency Room Technician II

Department: Emergency Services - Our Emergency Department is staffed with skilled physicians and nurses trained in emergency medicine, providing care 24/7. Each year, we manage over 18,000 cases ranging from critical cardiac incidents to minor injuries. Our facilities include a dedicated observation area and private examination rooms to ensure patient comfort and confidentiality.

Location: Chelsea, MI

Minimum Pay Rate: $16.42/hr plus additional compensation based on relevant patient care experience

Role Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of a registered nurse, the Emergency Room Technician is tasked with delivering direct patient care while addressing age-specific, developmental, cultural, and spiritual needs. The role involves maintaining a safe and hygienic environment conducive to patient and family well-being.

Our Emergency Technicians perform nursing duties as assigned by the RN to achieve treatment objectives, including:
  • Applying orthopedic supports such as splints and slings
  • Measuring vital signs, pain levels, and temperature
  • Administering warm/cold therapies (e.g., warm blankets, ice packs)
  • Providing routine oxygen therapy and pulse oximetry
  • Assisting in post-mortem care
  • Responding promptly to patient calls
  • Supporting quality assurance initiatives (e.g., crash cart checks, temperature logs)
Available Shift: 7am-7:30pm

Status: Full time, eligible for benefits (72 hours per pay period)

Weekend and holiday rotations are part of the role.

Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED, or a minimum age of 18.
  • Preferred recent experience in a similar role.
  • Training or experience in phlebotomy and IV initiation is essential.
