Role Overview

In this position, you will operate under general supervision to drive the sales of Johnson Controls' Design/Build Mechanical Retrofit solutions to high-level stakeholders, including Facility Directors, C-suite executives, and Vice Presidents. Your primary goal will be to articulate the unique value proposition of our offerings to building owners and end users by delivering both business and technical insights. You will be responsible for cultivating long-term partnerships with customers within your designated accounts and opportunities. Collaborating with local sales teams, project engineers, and project leaders, you will work to convert leads into contracts and enhance our overall market presence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Effectively sell the Johnson Controls Design/Build Mechanical Retrofit solutions with minimal oversight, ensuring persuasive and confident engagement with building owners at executive levels while achieving optimal profit margins.
  • Meet or exceed a revenue target of at least $5 million in annual Prime Retrofit sales within your assigned accounts and markets, while also achieving designated margin goals.
  • Foster strong relationships with decision-makers to facilitate the sale of our Design/Build Mechanical Retrofit solutions.
  • Address the operational and environmental goals of customers, providing tailored recommendations that align with their objectives and highlight our competitive advantages.
  • Establish a mentorship relationship with an Account Executive in your branch to support their professional growth as a Design/Build Mechanical Retrofit salesperson.
  • Collaborate across various domains to identify and secure new Design/Build Mechanical Retrofit opportunities.
  • Concentrate on selling performance-based agreements related to Design/Build Mechanical Retrofit services.

Qualifications:

Essential Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business, Engineering, Operations, or a related discipline.
  • At least 2 years of experience in executive-level sales within the Design/Build Mechanical Retrofit sector.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the HVAC industry.
  • Proven experience in selling advanced analytics and integrated digital solutions.
  • A strong commitment to integrity and quality in business practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence key market stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in operating within designated vertical market segments.
  • Competence in Microsoft Suite Applications and various reporting tools, including financial and market share analysis tools.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% for business purposes.
