Executive Chef Assistant

Job Summary
The Sous Chef is a key member of the Nutrition Services team at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Reporting to the Nutrition Services Associate Director, this role is responsible for ensuring the highest quality food preparation and execution of service for Seasons Cafe, Hospitality Centers, and Central Production kitchens.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of assistant sous chefs, cooks, and other kitchen personnel to ensure efficient food preparation and cooking.
- Initiate partnerships with other departments to drive menu development and improve overall culinary experience.
- Lead the development of new menu items and train food service staff in production, preparation, and garnishing techniques.
- Requisition all food and food-related products, ensuring timely delivery and quality control.
- Manage sanitation plans and create policies and procedures in accordance with HACCP and applicable food codes and practices.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Culinary Arts or related field.
- 3 years of work experience, with management experience preferred.
- High-volume food service experience and ServSafe certification required.
- Desired experience working with HACCP principles and ability to communicate effectively with customers.
