Job Summary

The Equipment Engineer plays a crucial role as an individual contributor, leveraging expertise in engineering, electro-mechanical systems, mathematics, software, and computer sciences to identify, analyze, and resolve manufacturing equipment challenges within a controlled cleanroom environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Line Maintenance and Process Engineering teams in diagnosing issues and supporting wafer production.
  • Collaborate with vendors for the installation and operation of new semiconductor equipment.
  • Enhance Production Equipment performance by improving throughput and minimizing downtime through procurement, installation, upgrades, design modifications, troubleshooting, and cost reduction strategies.
  • Conduct thorough equipment failure analyses and monitor trends to implement performance enhancements.
  • Utilize troubleshooting techniques and hand tools to repair assigned equipment.
  • Maintain regular communication with Supervisors, Production, Engineering, and other teams regarding priorities and equipment status.
  • Document all relevant tasks meticulously to ensure clarity and precision.
  • Provide support during unscheduled events and ensure efficient escalation processes.
  • Adhere to all safety and cleanroom protocols.
  • Train maintenance technicians as necessary to enhance 24/7 response capabilities.
Workplace Considerations

This position is based on-site and operates Monday through Friday, with potential overtime and on-call responsibilities as required.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience, along with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
Proficient in reading, interpreting, and understanding technical documents and manuals.
Experience in creating and maintaining operational and training documentation.

Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with pneumatic, hydraulic, and cooling systems/refrigeration.
Expertise in electronic troubleshooting of vacuum pumps, chambers, and plumbing gauging.
Ability to multitask and perform under pressure.
Strong communication skills to engage with diverse audiences, including vendors, engineers, and operators.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications—Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
