Job Summary

The Pastry Chef is a key member of our culinary team, responsible for creating and presenting exceptional desserts and pastries. This role requires a high level of creativity, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise the preparation of desserts, breads, and pastries, ensuring consistent quality and presentation.
  • Work closely with the Pastry staff to achieve budgeted food costs and minimize waste.
  • Maintain pastry inventory by sourcing suppliers and placing orders to ensure adequate stock rotation within budget.
  • Plan for functions and special events, including ordering ingredients and supplies in advance.
  • Represent the Pastry Department at shows, exhibitions, and public relations events.
  • Responsible for the weekly schedule of the Pastry Department, ensuring adequate staffing for daily needs and special events.
  • Ensure the standards of hygiene and safety are maintained within the Pastry Department.
  • Motivate and train Pastry staff to perform to the highest standards.
Requirements
  • Certification of culinary training or apprenticeship required.
  • Food Handling and Sanitation certificates preferred.
  • Experience in the Culinary Department of a luxury hotel is preferred.
  • Ability to work all stations in the kitchen, communicate effectively, and work under pressure.
  • Computer proficiency and ability to input and access information into the property management system.
Compensation

The compensation for this position is $90,000.00/Yr. - $90,000.00/Yr. based on qualifications and experience.
