Executive Chef Job Description

At Oak View Group, we are seeking an experienced Executive Chef to lead our culinary team. As a key member of our operations team, the Executive Chef will be responsible for managing the daily activities of the kitchen, ensuring high-quality food preparation and presentation, and maintaining a positive and compliant work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and develop a team of culinary staff, including hiring, training, and evaluating employees.
  • Ensure that all food products meet Oak View Group's standards of quality and consistency, and that menus are developed and implemented to meet the needs of our guests.
  • Control labor costs and ensure that all kitchen staff are properly scheduled and trained.
  • Coordinate the storage, maintenance, and repair of all kitchen equipment, and ensure that all food safety and sanitation policies are followed.
  • Develop and implement effective menu planning, food preparation, and procurement procedures to ensure that all food products meet Oak View Group's standards.
  • Ensure that all kitchen staff are properly trained and equipped to meet the needs of our guests, and that all food products are prepared and presented to the highest standards.
  • Maintain a positive and compliant employee relations climate, and ensure that all kitchen staff are aware of and adhere to Oak View Group's policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 4-5 years of kitchen management experience in an upscale banquet venue, hotel, or convention center.
  • Demonstrated track record of meeting projected costs and maintaining high-quality food preparation and presentation standards.
  • Professional appearance and presentation required.
  • Knowledge of and skill in using computer software, including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Maintains a current Food Handler's card and alcohol service permit if required by state or local government.
  • Working knowledge of employee scheduling in a hospitality environment.
  • Experience in menu planning, food preparation, and procurement and storage of food.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain certification in a nationally recognized sanitation program.
  • Technical proficiency and experience demonstrating verifiable knowledge of food preparation methods.
  • Ability to positively interact with diverse personalities, including co-workers, subordinates, guests, and purveyors in a variety of work situations.

We offer a competitive salary range of $80,000 to $90,000 per year, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) savings plan, and paid time off.
