About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Services Representative to join our team at UnitedHealth Group. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth delivery of patient services and supporting the overall mission of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Registration and Scheduling: Greet and register patients in a prompt, pleasant, and helpful manner, instructing, directing, and scheduling patients and visitors as needed.
  • Payment Processing: Receive payments from patients, issue receipts, and post payment data accurately and efficiently.
  • Communication and Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service, communicate effectively with patients, and maintain a professional demeanor in all interactions.
  • Administrative Support: Assist with administrative tasks, such as preparing batch reports, maintaining supply inventories, and ensuring a neat and organized work environment.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with healthcare providers, staff, and other teams to ensure seamless patient care and support.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: 1+ years of customer service or healthcare-related experience preferred.
  • Skills: Intermediate level of computer proficiency, including Microsoft Outlook and Teams, and ability to work with dual monitors.
  • Travel: Ability to travel to other offices as needed for coverage.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience: Experience as a receptionist in a healthcare setting or experience working with electronic health records.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of medical terminology and ability to learn and apply job functions.
Soft Skills
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to speak clearly and concisely.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with good judgment and accountability.
  • Organizational: Strong organizational and time management skills, with ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
