Position Overview

Arts Mentorship Program Coordinator

Leaders of Tomorrow Youth Center (LTYC) is in search of a committed Arts Mentorship Program Coordinator to enhance our dynamic team. Our mission is to uplift youth through artistic endeavors, creativity, and mentorship. In this role, you will significantly influence the lives of young individuals by cultivating their artistic abilities and supporting their personal development. Join us in fostering a nurturing and motivating atmosphere where creativity flourishes, and every young artist is inspired to achieve their utmost potential.

Compensation:

$30 - $35 annually

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design tailored arts mentorship strategies for individual youth participants.
  • Facilitate and supervise weekly one-on-one arts mentoring sessions.
  • Collaborate with local artists and arts organizations to offer varied learning experiences.
  • Assess the progress and development of each youth participant through regular evaluations.
  • Maintain comprehensive records and reports on each mentoring session and participant advancement.
  • Recruit 1:1 Arts Mentors and Mentees.
  • Coordinate and conduct interviews for prospective mentor candidates.
  • Oversee the 1:1 Arts Mentor referral process.
  • Match mentors with mentees and provide guidance on mentoring objectives.
  • Conduct meetings with relevant staff and external mentoring partners.
  • Monitor, support, and evaluate mentor-mentee relationships to identify necessary adjustments.
  • Review progress reports submitted by mentors.
  • Compile reports on the effectiveness of current programs.
  • Exhibit strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to collaborate effectively with students, colleagues, and administration.
  • Demonstrate experience in creating environments where creative arts are explored and appreciated.
  • Show a proven history of fostering student growth and mastery.
  • Commit to ongoing professional development.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Fine Arts, Art Education, or Psychology.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience working with youth in an arts-related context.
  • Strong organizational abilities and experience in coordinating mentoring initiatives.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and comfortable engaging with diverse populations.
