Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Media Arts Educator to join our team at Leaders of Tomorrow Youth Center, Inc. as a Media Arts Instructor.

Key Responsibilities
  • Curriculum Development: Design and implement a comprehensive media arts curriculum that covers digital photography, video production, graphic design, animation, and other relevant disciplines.
  • Instructional Delivery: Provide engaging and interactive instruction tailored to the skill levels of youth, ensuring they are both supported and appropriately challenged.
  • Project-Based Learning: Lead students through the entire process of creating media arts projects, from planning and execution to presentation.
  • Technology Integration: Incorporate various software and equipment to enhance the learning experience, staying updated on industry trends and technological advancements.
  • Assessment and Feedback: Assess student progress, offer constructive feedback, and pinpoint areas for improvement.
  • Collaboration and Community Outreach: Collaborate with fellow instructors, staff, and community partners to support program objectives and enrich the educational experience.
  • Mentorship and Role Modeling: Act as a mentor and role model for students, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Professional Development: Pursue continuous professional growth and development opportunities in the field of media arts education.
Requirements
  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Media Arts, Fine Arts, Education, or a related field, with a preference for candidates holding a Master's degree.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience teaching media arts to youth, with a preference for experience in a school or community-based setting.
  • Skills: Proficiency in media arts software and tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, etc., along with a strong understanding of digital media production encompassing photography, videography, and graphic design.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively connect with and inspire students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Creativity and Innovation: Demonstrated creativity and innovation in teaching methods and project design.
  • Teamwork and Collaboration: The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and effectively contribute to a team environment.
  • Passion for the Arts: A genuine passion for the arts and a commitment to empowering youth through creative expression.
