Position Overview: Plant Finance Business Partner

The Plant Finance Business Partner plays a crucial role in supporting the Plant Management team by providing strategic financial guidance and oversight. This position collaborates with various business areas to facilitate the delivery of services to Business Unit Leaders. The role involves close collaboration with the business to accurately project financial outcomes, promote data-driven decision-making, and partner on proposals and special projects. Responsibilities include conducting financial reporting and forecasting analyses in profit planning, cost management, capital investments, and other relevant areas. The focus will be on comprehensive financial views and understanding profitability drivers and trends, along with making informed recommendations based on financial analysis and business insights.

Key Responsibilities

Business Partnership and Leadership Support
  • Serve as a leader in critical business functions.
  • Effectively communicate financial outcomes to non-financial professionals while fostering interdepartmental collaboration.
  • Facilitate strategic and tactical initiatives to support the business in achieving its objectives.
  • Challenge and support the business in aligning actions with strategic goals, optimizing company assets.
  • Drive improvements in operational results and efficiency.
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations on historical and future financial performance to leadership.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships across functions and regions.
  • Respond promptly to stakeholder inquiries.
  • Share expertise to support effective financial management processes.
  • Deliver financial, operational, and strategic insights across the organization.
  • Encourage a communicative environment to foster creative thinking and commitment to process improvement.
  • Act as a catalyst for initiatives critical to strategic delivery.
Forecasting and Planning
  • Develop necessary forecasting and planning processes to ensure key inputs are considered.
  • Assist Business Unit leadership in completing the annual budget cycle and achieving operational targets.
  • Collaborate with peers across business units to share ideas and enhance finance routines and processes.
  • Conduct additional financial analyses and reporting as required.
Operating Budget Support and Performance Management
  • Provide analysis to support the creation of Base Budget assumptions for volume, gross revenue, and expense inflation rates, integrating organizational objectives for cost savings and new initiatives.
  • Actively participate in month-end financial closing activities.
  • Assist Shared Services and Corporate Accounting in estimating appropriate accruals.
  • Prepare detailed analyses of operational and financial data, including trend analysis and monitoring of key financial metrics.
  • Engage with leaders to guide the development and monitoring of remediation and corrective action plans.
  • Support analytics for Labor and Non-Labor Benchmarking activities.
  • Assist Business Leadership in cost management initiatives.
  • Participate in client-based meetings for organizational exposure.
Compliance and Performance Improvement
  • Guide Business Leaders in understanding and adopting finance policies, guidelines, and standard operating procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives that enhance operational and financial performance.
  • Educate staff on financial concepts and applications, contributing to the development of financial management capabilities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field (Finance or Accounting preferred).
  • MBA with a focus in Finance is preferred.
  • 5 - 8 years of relevant finance experience, including expertise in financial statement analysis and corporate finance concepts.
  • Strong attention to detail, customer service orientation, and timely follow-through.
  • Ability to engage with business leaders outside of finance and present to senior leadership.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve issues.
  • Strategic thinking, leadership, and influencing capabilities.
  • High energy and self-motivated individual.
  • Proven ability to cultivate strong business partner relationships and communicate effectively.
  • Self-starter in a fast-paced and sometimes ambiguous environment.
  • Strong computer proficiency.
