Position Overview

The role of the Pharmacist encompasses a diverse range of clinical and distribution responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

The pharmacist is expected to be an active member of the healthcare team, focusing on the identification, resolution, and prevention of potential or existing medication-related issues.

Qualifications
  • Education: Must have graduated from an accredited pharmacy program with either a Bachelor of Science degree or a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.)
  • Experience: Prior experience as a registered pharmacist in a hospital setting is preferred. Completion of a PGY1 Pharmacy residency is also advantageous.
  • Licensure: A valid Vermont pharmacy license or eligibility for licensure through examination or reciprocity is required.
Essential Skills and Competencies

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
  • The ability to identify and report deviations in practice to enhance the medication management system.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with pharmacy staff, nursing personnel, medical professionals, and other healthcare providers.

Additionally, the pharmacist must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to deliver care that is tailored to the physical, psychosocial, educational, safety, and related needs of patients across various age groups. Such competencies may be acquired through formal education, training, or relevant experience.
