Position Overview
The role of the pharmacist encompasses a wide range of clinical and distribution responsibilities. As an integral member of the healthcare team, the pharmacist is dedicated to identifying, addressing, and preventing potential or existing medication-related issues.
Educational Requirements
- Must possess a degree from an accredited pharmacy school, either a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.).
Experience Requirements
- Prior experience as a licensed pharmacist in a hospital setting is preferred.
- Completion of a PGY1 Pharmacy residency is advantageous.
Licensure and Certification
- Must hold a valid Vermont pharmacy license or be eligible for licensure through examination or reciprocity.
Essential Skills and Competencies
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
- Ability to identify and report deviations in practice to enhance the medication management system.
- Effective communication skills with pharmacy staff, nursing, medical personnel, and other healthcare professionals are crucial.
- Must demonstrate the necessary knowledge and skills to provide care tailored to the physical, psychosocial, educational, safety, and related needs of patients across various age groups. Such competencies may be acquired through education, training, or relevant experience.
Compensation
The pay range for this position is $84.08.
