Position Overview

The Visual Communications Specialist at The UPS Store is dedicated to providing exceptional service to all customers, including entrepreneurs, corporate clients, and families.

The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of one year of experience in customer service, along with one to two years in a graphic design or print production role, or hold a two-year degree in graphic design or a related discipline. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office is essential, alongside a solid understanding of printing principles. A friendly and approachable demeanor, coupled with a professional appearance, is crucial. The candidate should be motivated, energetic, and a collaborative team player who is reliable and quick to learn.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identifies and addresses the needs of walk-in customers and responds to telephone/email inquiries.
  • Communicates effectively while practicing active listening with customers, colleagues, vendors, and management.
  • Handles challenging customer interactions with empathy, transforming stressful situations into positive outcomes.
  • Takes responsibility for resolving customer issues related to returns, packing, shipping, and printing, providing practical solutions.
  • Oversees the logistics of small to medium-sized projects, ensuring completion and keeping all stakeholders informed.
  • Creates, designs, proofs, and updates print materials using Adobe and Microsoft software for both Mac and PC platforms.
  • Operates all relevant equipment and software proficiently and is willing to mentor others.
  • Prioritizes tasks to enhance production efficiency.
  • Maintains meticulous attention to detail while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ensures a clean, organized, and safe workspace.
  • May be responsible for opening and closing the store and conducting end-of-day accounting tasks.
  • Proactively learns about new products, services, and industry trends, while also reviewing and retraining on less frequently used services.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • At least one year of customer service experience is necessary (more is preferred).
  • One to two years of experience or a two-year degree in graphic design or a related field is required.
  • Availability to work on weekends as needed.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Suites.
  • Knowledge of printing concepts and their applications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical abilities.
  • Highly organized with a keen attention to detail.
  • Effective project and time management skills.
  • Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with others.
  • High energy and enthusiasm.

  • Able to lift 40+ pounds.
