Position Overview
The Energy Analyst will be responsible for modeling fundamental building features such as internal gains, multiple zones with central HVAC systems, daylighting, and envelope measures affecting thermal transmission. Key responsibilities include:

  • Modeling mechanical systems with project-specific inputs and central plant operating efficiencies.
  • Utilizing lighting photometric calculations to estimate light levels.
  • Simulating complex Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs) including heat recovery and variable frequency drive applications.
  • Determining the feasibility of energy systems for simulation with energy modeling software.
  • Establishing procedures for transferring design document details into energy models.
  • Developing occupancy schedules and interpreting model output reports.
  • Implementing a quality control process for modeling.
  • Calibrating energy models to reflect actual post-occupancy conditions.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of three years of full-time modeling experience with approved energy analysis software.
  • A technical degree from an accredited university, complemented by four years of relevant experience in areas such as envelope heat transfer and HVAC systems.
  • Expertise in building systems and current energy-efficient technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience in building simulation modeling with a focus on project-specific inputs.
