Job Summary

As a Medical Office Supervisor at UofL Health, you will play a crucial role in providing supervision, guidance, and leadership to our patient care staff. Your primary responsibility will be to manage the day-to-day clinical operations of the medical practice, ensuring that our patients receive high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise medical assistants' daily activities, ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Monitor tasks for completion and timeliness, maintaining a high level of productivity and organization.
  • Fulfill clinical roles as needed, providing direct patient care and support to our medical staff.
  • Resolve patient complaints in a professional and empathetic manner, ensuring that our patients feel heard and valued.
  • Monitor lunch schedules and coverage, ensuring that our staff is adequately covered during peak periods.
  • Train new hires, providing comprehensive onboarding and orientation to our medical staff.
  • Evaluate staff competencies, identifying areas for growth and development.
  • Monitor patient flow, ensuring that our patients receive timely and efficient care.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, playing an active role in establishing and coordinating patient care.
  • Utilize electronic medical records, ensuring the confidentiality and security of patient information.
  • Manage inventory and supplies, maintaining a well-stocked and organized medical practice.
  • Perform opening and closing duties in the manager's absence, ensuring that our medical practice runs smoothly and efficiently.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field, with an emphasis in Healthcare Administration preferred.
  • Three years' supervisory experience, preferred.
  • Certified in Basic Life Support.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to multi-task and be organized and detail-oriented.
  • Effective listening skills, critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
  • Motivated, dependable, and professional team player.
