- Maintain clean and organized exam rooms, adhering to infection control protocols.
- Ensure confidentiality and maintain patient confidentiality at all times, adhering to HIPAA regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or healthcare team members.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Medical Assisting certification from a nationally recognized organization required; Medical Assisting degree preferred.
- Minimum one year of experience working in a medical facility as a medical assistant or documented evidence of externship completed in a medical office.
- Electrocardiogram (EKG), vital signs, venipuncture, capillary, and injection experience required.
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association required.
- Knowledge of healthcare field and medical office protocols/procedures.
- Knowledge of specific assisting tasks related to family and geriatric medical practice.
- Knowledge of information that must be conveyed to patients and families.
- Skill in performing medical assistance tasks appropriately.
- Skill in understanding patient education needs and effectively sharing information with patients and families.
- Ability to learn and retain information regarding patient care procedures.
- Ability to project a pleasant and professional image.
- Ability to plan, prioritize, and complete delegated tasks.
- Ability to demonstrate compassion and caring when dealing with others.
