Overview


The Walsh Group is currently seeking an Earthwork Foreman to oversee operations on a significant construction project.


The Earthwork Foreman will be responsible for supervising, coordinating, and scheduling a team of 3-15 construction workers daily, ensuring that all operations in the designated area run smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Supervising crew members within their designated project area
  • Coordinating and scheduling activities of assigned craft workers while ensuring effective communication with other trades
  • Interpreting specifications and plans to determine construction requirements
  • Measuring and marking site locations for structures or equipment
  • Documenting personnel, production, and operational data
  • Assisting workers in construction activities using hand tools and equipment
  • Inspecting work progress and construction sites to ensure safety and compliance with specifications
  • Adhering to safety protocols and maintaining a drug-free workplace
  • Training and supervising workers on company policies and safety practices


Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Construction Foreman preferred
  • 5-8 years of verifiable construction experience required
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and experience managing crews and subcontractors
  • Effective communication skills with crew members, project management, subcontractors, and vendors
  • Ability to read and understand work plans
  • Physical capability to climb and maintain balance on scaffolding or ladders
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions


Compliance with all safety policies and procedures is essential, as is effective communication with co-workers and supervisors to ensure project completion.

Good manual dexterity is required, with the ability to stand, bend, kneel, or sit for extended periods.
