Are you passionate about developing sophisticated solutions to intricate challenges? Do you appreciate the significance of every detail? As a member of our Silicon Technologies team, you will contribute to the design and production of our next-generation, high-performance, energy-efficient processors and system-on-chip (SoC) solutions.

Your efforts will ensure that Apple products and services can effortlessly and effectively perform the tasks that endear them to millions. Joining this team means you will play a vital role in creating and building the technology that powers Apple's devices. Together with your colleagues, you will empower our customers to enjoy all the functionalities they cherish in their devices.

In this dynamic position, you will enhance product yield and performance by collaborating closely with Apple’s wafer foundry partners.

You will take charge of identifying the root causes of process and device-related yield challenges, proposing enhancement strategies, and overseeing the implementation of these strategies to align with Apple's product timelines.

This role necessitates collaboration with internal supply chain teams, Apple SoC product and testing engineering groups, as well as external wafer foundries. Experience with GAA (Gate All Around) processes and devices is preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and rectify characteristics of the FEOL or BEOL processes or layout issues that restrict product yield and performance.
  • Design experiments aimed at improving FEOL and BEOL process modules.
  • Define and lead statistical yield, electrical testing, and defect data analysis in partnership with foundries.
  • Collaborate with foundry partners to ensure timely execution of plans for process and performance enhancements and product ramp-up.
  • Strategize process corners to guarantee robust product performance amid manufacturing process variations.
  • Work alongside the foundry to mitigate process variations and ensure appropriate SPC limits are established for key process parameters.
  • Regularly communicate the status of process and yield improvements to the Apple management team.
  • Collaborate with Apple's internal supply chain management and engineering/operational project management teams for post-ramp system qualifications.

Key Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should possess over 10 years of process integration experience within an IDM or foundry environment.

  • Expertise in integration modules such as Fin and STI formation, Spacer, Silicide, Stress Engineering, High-K Metal Gate, Lithography, Etch, and CMP technologies.
  • Familiarity with advanced process technologies, preferably Fin-FET and GAA CMOS.
  • Solid understanding of MOSFET device physics and the implications of scaling.
  • Experience with process design rules and assumptions.
  • Proficiency in yield management for high-volume manufacturing.
  • In-depth knowledge of wafer sort testing and analysis methods for typical Application Processors and System On Chips.
  • Strong understanding of failure analysis techniques for identifying process and device issues.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.

Education & Experience:
A Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience are required.

Compensation & Benefits:
