As a key player in our operations, you will support model and capacity assessments for all project phases, focusing on both Direct and Indirect Labor within Powertrain and Vehicle Operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive labor optimization initiatives for new models to meet labor objectives, utilizing benchmarking (both internal and external), establishing targets, monitoring process changes, and replicating successful strategies across programs.
  • Assist in planning cycle line layouts and virtual build events, ensuring future model operator allocations and conducting time studies, while collaborating with plants for physical build events and program launches.
  • Identify opportunities to minimize or counteract labor impacts through targeted labor blitzes, project tasks, and design/process improvements.
  • Support operator allocations, cycle line layouts, plant rebalances, line speed adjustments, time studies, throughput challenges, and launch assistance.
  • Maintain and deliver essential Industrial Engineering documentation, including Labor Glidepath, Program 1-Pager, Labor by Department, Plant Line speed, APT Assessment, etc.
  • Collaborate with plants to conduct and assess time studies using MODAPTS as the standard measurement tool for work efficiency.
  • Work closely with manufacturing engineering, material handling, ergonomics, and plant personnel to align on reported capacity (operating patterns and labor) in support of the capacity readiness statement.
  • Your responsibilities will encompass the Powertrain Facility in Mexico, with potential support for Assembly, Stamping, and/or other Powertrain Plants in North America.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
  • At least 1 year of experience in Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing operations, or 6 months of Co-Op internship experience will be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in Plant Industrial Engineering and manufacturing operations is preferred.
  • Familiarity with MODAPTS is advantageous.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Excellent planning and organizational capabilities.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure.
