Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Paint Application Optimization Engineer to join our Manufacturing team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in launching new model paint and automation equipment, ensuring the implementation of top-tier robotic paint processes.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the launch of new model paint processes and automation equipment.
- Achieve best-in-class robotic paint application results.
- Analyze and identify root causes of paint defects, implementing effective solutions.
- Provide technical support for paint automation equipment, addressing mechanical and electrical issues.
- Collaborate with robotic OEM programmers to enhance paint quality data analytics and identify inefficiencies.
- Offer technical assistance during equipment shutdowns, startups, or emergencies.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in automotive top-coat paint application and automation equipment repair.
- Proven experience in launching new model paint and automation equipment.
- Extensive knowledge of corporate paint manufacturing engineering and meeting launch deliverables.
- Proficiency with ABB, Durr, and Fanuc paint robots and applicators.
- Experience in applying paint quality metrics such as film thickness, appearance, and color.

Work Environment
This position is based in our Dearborn, MI office, with a flexible work-from-home schedule available. Candidates must reside within commuting distance.

Compensation and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary range of $112,570 to $158,096 per year, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
