Position Overview

Note: This is a volunteer, unpaid opportunity that can serve as a long-term internship based on mutual agreement.

Are you the next influential voice in entertainment journalism? A Hot Set is seeking a dedicated Editor for a long-term commitment. This role is part-time and remote, allowing you to work from your location as part of an all-volunteer team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary site manager under the guidance of the Publisher.
  • Assist in the selection and oversight of site contributors.
  • Facilitate the distribution of assignments aligned with the site's target audience.
  • Collaborate with contributors to transform original ideas into polished AP Style articles.
  • Review and approve submitted content.
  • Verify all citations and scrutinize references.
  • Adhere to deadlines and production standards.
  • Help in creating and sharing all relevant staff communications.

Qualifications:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficient in AP Style writing.
  • Strong judgment and decision-making capabilities.
  • Effective time management skills to meet deadlines.
  • In-depth understanding of communication and mass media.
  • Experience with various online content platforms.
  • Passionate about a wide array of entertainment topics, including film, television, theater, and streaming.
  • Prior editorial or content management experience is preferred.
