Job Description

A Hot Set is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Editorial Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our editorial staff, you will be responsible for managing the content of our digital media site, ensuring that it meets the highest standards of quality and accuracy.

Responsibilities:
  • Content Management: Assist in selecting and supervising site contributors, disseminating assignments, and reviewing and approving content.
  • Research and Writing: Work with contributors to develop AP Style articles from original ideas to completed articles, cross-checking all citations and examining all references.
  • Time Management: Conform to deadlines and production requirements, assisting in creating and disseminating all staff-related information.
  • Editorial Support: Assist the Publisher in ranking site manager duties, including managing the site's target demographic.
Requirements:
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Verbal and written communication skills are essential for this role.
  • AP Style Expertise: Expert knowledge of AP Style writing format is required.
  • Time Management: Effective judgment and decision-making skills, as well as the ability to manage time and complete tasks within deadlines.
  • Media Knowledge: Expert knowledge of communication and mass media, with a strong interest in scripted and reality-based entertainment topics related to the film, television, theater, and streaming industry.
  • Previous Experience: Previous editorial or content management experience, or having managed/run a relevant site of your own.
