Position Summary:

The Senior Writer for Creative Content at NBC Entertainment plays a pivotal role within the writing team of the Creative Content group, contributing to our marketing strategies across various platforms. This position requires a seasoned storyteller who can embody the NBC voice and captivate both new and existing audiences with innovative ideas and refined writing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in meetings, endorse creative concepts, and serve as the writing team's representative in the absence of the Editorial Director.
  • Exhibit proficiency in various writing styles, including traditional marketing copy and conceptual promotional materials.
  • Oversee all writing requirements for assigned NBC shows, from pre-launch to season finale, becoming well-versed in characters, storylines, and key moments.
  • Facilitate brainstorming sessions for assigned shows and contribute to collaborative idea generation.
  • Craft and refine content that aligns with the NBC brand voice.
  • Proofread marketing materials with meticulous attention to detail before final approval.
  • Collaborate with multiple teams to customize writing for diverse audiences and platforms while adhering to established strategies.
  • Work in harmony with creative directors, producers, editors, and fellow writers.
  • Stay informed about cultural, digital, and social trends to identify engaging content and messaging for our viewers.

Qualifications:

Basic Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in writing for entertainment, gaming, or creative agencies.
  • Strong leadership capabilities.
  • Proactive approach to project management and deadlines.
  • Exceptional proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to create concise copy that resonates with both traditional and digital audiences.
  • Understanding of visual storytelling and fan-centric content creation.
  • Strategic thinker with a grasp of how messaging complements visuals.
  • Portfolio showcasing a range of writing styles and voice.
  • Independent problem-solver with strategic thinking skills.
  • Ability to handle feedback gracefully while managing tight deadlines.

Additional Information:

This position operates in a hybrid model, requiring in-office attendance for a minimum of three days per week. NBCUniversal offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and various other perks.

Salary Range: $110,000 - $125,000 (bonus eligible)
