Position Overview:

The Operations Control Center Supervisor is responsible for overseeing a team of operational staff within a multi-skilled plant environment at a Fossil power facility. This role is pivotal in ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable functioning of plant operations. The Supervisor will report directly to the Plant Manager and will play a crucial role in planning and coordinating operations to align with production requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, operational budgets, and reliability metrics.
  • Direct and manage operational and maintenance personnel, including shift scheduling and staffing solutions.
  • Foster a culture of operational excellence through leadership and development of team members.
  • Support initiatives aimed at enhancing human performance and accountability within the team.
  • Monitor adherence to safe work practices and plant procedures, ensuring effective operation and maintenance of equipment.
  • Develop and implement operational procedures and performance measures to maintain high standards.
  • Collaborate with planning organizations to optimize production schedules and manage outages.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Stay informed on industry advancements to drive continuous improvement.
  • Assist in budget preparation and management for operational projects.
  • Lead contract management and oversight for routine and outage work.
  • Utilize past experiences to refine operational procedures and training programs.
  • Provide technical guidance for troubleshooting and liaise with vendors and experts to enhance performance.
Qualifications:

Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience preferred.
Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience in Power Plant Operations/Maintenance with a technical degree.
  • 10+ years of experience in power plant operations without a degree.
  • Experience in a fossil power plant is highly desirable.
Skills and Abilities:
  • In-depth knowledge of power plant operations and maintenance practices.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively engage with contractors and team members.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities and analytical skills.
  • Ability to address complex operational challenges with innovative solutions.
  • Demonstrated accountability for achieving results.
