OVERVIEW: The Infection Control Supervisor is integral in recognizing and reducing risks related to hospital-acquired infections. This role involves ongoing surveillance, data analysis, reporting, educational initiatives, and the execution of preventive measures to safeguard both patients and staff. Acting as a liaison among various hospital departments, healthcare personnel, physicians, and public health authorities, the Supervisor assesses the Infection Control Program and offers strategic recommendations to meet established goals. Reporting directly to the COO/CNO and working closely with the Infection Control Committee Chairman, this position may also entail managing infectious materials that pose health risks.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in Infection Prevention
- Current California RN or LVN License preferred; ABM/MAB/CPI certification required within 90 days of employment and annually thereafter
- Strong proficiency in both verbal and written English
- Physical capability is essential, including the ability to lift heavy objects and possess acute sensory perception (visual and auditory) to effectively perform patient care duties
- In-depth knowledge of epidemiology, infectious diseases, sterilization, sanitation, disinfection, adult education methodologies, and patient care protocols
