Position Overview

In the role of Senior Vice President of Technology Innovation, you will spearhead the definition and execution of Wellmark's Technology Strategy in collaboration with the Chief Information Officer.

This position offers a unique opportunity to lead the development and implementation of enterprise technology platforms, data assets, API frameworks, and cloud solutions that will propel Wellmark's technology strategy forward, creating operational efficiencies and competitive advantages.

You will oversee Wellmark's technology product offerings and delivery mechanisms, ensuring the engineering and deployment of innovative IT solutions align with the organization's strategic objectives.

Your responsibilities will also encompass fostering operational partnerships between the Technology division and the broader organization, ensuring the effective delivery and management of IT products and platforms that yield operational efficiencies and scalability.


Qualifications

Essential:
  • Bachelor's degree in Technology, Business Administration, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • A minimum of 10 years of demonstrated experience in strategic planning and aligning technology initiatives with business goals.
  • Proven track record in delivering technology solutions that support strategic business objectives, with at least 5 years in senior leadership roles within a complex enterprise environment.
  • Expertise in managing diverse teams and projects, ensuring successful outcomes through collaboration across various departments and levels.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence corporate decisions and foster partnerships with peers and stakeholders.
  • A human-centric leadership style, with extensive experience in team development, motivation, and performance evaluation.
  • Executive presence, capable of delivering impactful messages to diverse audiences, including board members.
  • A forward-thinking mindset, adept at learning quickly and leading change initiatives while remaining adaptable to evolving demands.

Preferred:
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA).

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to formulate and execute the strategic business plan and operational objectives.
  • Oversee planning, execution, operations, financial management, vendor relations, staffing models, governance, and performance metrics.
  • Provide strategic leadership for a team of professionals engaged in enterprise planning, development, and operational functions that align with Wellmark's strategic goals.
  • Communicate and cascade strategic initiatives to team members, enhancing customer service and supporting organizational results.
  • Manage financial and human resources, focusing on coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
  • Lead the implementation of Wellmark's technology strategy, ensuring alignment with industry standards and organizational priorities.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitor initiatives, communicating their implications for Wellmark's strategic direction.
  • Direct the execution of enterprise technology platforms and services, optimizing for organizational leverage and strategic alignment.
  • Drive the adoption of cloud strategies and services, enhancing technology capabilities while managing costs and security.
  • Mentor and develop talent to apply business acumen across IT product portfolios.
  • Facilitate the execution of Communities of Practice and Centers of Excellence across key functions.
