About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Documentation Specialist to join our team at Ensemble Health Partners. As a key member of our revenue cycle management team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of patient medical records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough reviews of patient medical records to identify and correct any discrepancies or inaccuracies.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to obtain necessary documentation and clarify any unclear or missing information.
  • Assign and validate ICD-10-CM and PCS codes, as well as DRG assignments, to ensure accurate reimbursement.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve clinical documentation practices and reduce denials.
  • Partner with coding professionals to ensure accurate and complete diagnostic and procedural data.
  • Maintain and uphold all clinical documentation regulatory guidelines.
  • Formulate and submit timely appeals for reconsideration by third-party administrators.
Requirements
  • Minimum of five years acute care nursing experience with specific medical/surgical, Intensive Care, or Emergency Department experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including excellent verbal and written communication skills, and proficient in physician relations.
  • Ability to organize and present information clearly and concisely, with excellent computer and keyboarding skills, and high degree of prioritization skills.
  • Current RN licensure.
  • CRCR certification required within 9 months of hire.
