Role Overview

As a Clinical Nutrition Specialist, you will guide patients, families, and healthcare staff on all facets of medical nutrition therapy, fostering a healthy and supportive environment. You will collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to enhance patient satisfaction and ensure quality care tailored to each patient's nutritional requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive nutritional evaluations and implement interventions based on evidence-based practices for both inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Educate patients, families, nursing staff, food service teams, and other facility personnel on nutritional needs.
  • Document patient assessments, nutritional goals, and interventions in the medical records.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians and clinical staff regarding patients' nutritional statuses.
  • Oversee physician orders for therapeutic diets and nutritional supplements.
  • Participate in patient rounds and uphold clinical nutrition policies to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Qualifications

  • Registered Dietitian with Commission of Dietetic Registration and state licensure as mandated.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Food and Nutrition or a related discipline.
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards.
  • Proficient in computer applications including word processing and spreadsheets.
