FRONT DESK RECEPTIONIST

Position Summary

The Front Desk Receptionist plays a crucial role in managing the daily operations of the office. This position involves greeting patients and visitors, managing appointment schedules, and ensuring efficient patient flow.

Core Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate punctuality and consistent attendance while fulfilling key responsibilities in person at the office.
  • Maintain an organized schedule to meet patient appointment goals and enhance patient attendance rates.
  • Facilitate patient appointments by notifying clinical staff of arrivals and managing service delivery timelines.
  • Conduct routine clerical tasks including answering phones, welcoming patients, scheduling appointments, and maintaining records.
  • Follow office protocols for opening and closing procedures.
  • Greet patients and visitors, assisting them in person or over the phone.
  • Register patients upon arrival, collecting necessary insurance and personal information.
  • Contact patients to remind them of appointments and assist with scheduling additional services.
  • Enhance patient satisfaction and optimize provider time by effectively managing appointment schedules.
  • Provide comfort to patients by addressing their concerns and maintaining a welcoming reception area.
  • Ensure the availability of treatment information by managing patient records efficiently.
  • Maintain patient accounts by accurately recording and updating personal and financial data.
  • Facilitate revenue collection by managing patient charges and third-party claims.
  • Oversee office inventory and equipment by monitoring stock levels and placing orders as needed.
  • Safeguard patient confidentiality by maintaining secure and organized patient files.
  • Assist patients in emergencies by responding promptly to distress situations.
  • Protect patient rights by ensuring confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Support office operations by adhering to established policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to team objectives by achieving related results as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in an office assistant role, preferably in a dental or oral surgery environment.
  • A friendly and positive attitude towards patients and colleagues.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, along with problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient administrative and computer skills, with a willingness to learn new software.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and dependable.
