Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Social Service Assistant to join our team at Axess Family Services. As a Social Service Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and stimulating environment for residents, working in conjunction with Senior Support staff to maintain excellent service standards and professional practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the efficient running of the facility and its therapeutic programming, including general duties associated with the role.
  • Provide administrative support, including answering phones, directing inbound calls, and taking messages.
  • Maintain a well-organized front office, ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
  • Track and manage office and facility supplies, as needed.
  • Conduct regular checks on fire extinguishers and refrigeration temperatures.
  • Prepare rooms for incoming residents and ensure a smooth transition.
  • Coordinate with vendors to address facility needs, such as HVAC and pest control.
  • Maintain accurate medication logs and process donations.
  • Prepare meals for residents, as needed.
  • Track therapeutic attendance and complete contact summaries.
  • Assist residents in communicating with various agencies and secure appointments.
  • Accompany residents to appointments, as needed.
  • Promote anti-discriminatory practices and ensure a respectful environment for all residents.
  • Adapt to changing environments and work collaboratively with team members.
  • Provide support to residents to enhance their quality of life, including leisure facilities and social skills.
  • Attend staff meetings and training sessions, as required.
  • Foster positive working relationships with colleagues.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emergency procedures and health and safety standards.
  • Report timely for all assigned shifts and comply with agency policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • CPR/First Aid Certification preferred.
  • Experience working in crisis intervention preferred.
  • Physical demands of the role are minimal.
