Position Overview:
As a key member of the Colorado River Aqueduct Program Management Team, you will oversee a variety of capital and Operations & Maintenance (O&M) initiatives. Your role will involve delivering project management expertise on engineering endeavors while ensuring that all engineering services align with the Metropolitan's standards for quality, efficiency, and technical integrity.

Key Responsibilities:
In this capacity, you will leverage your expertise to guide project teams in the daily management of all project-related activities. This includes:

  • Assisting or leading the development of project proposals.
  • Directing planning and scoping studies for capital infrastructure projects.
  • Securing project funding and authorization through appropriate channels.
  • Monitoring and controlling project scope, progress, schedules, and budgets in collaboration with Water System Operations (WSO) and Water Resources Management (WRM).

Additional Duties:
You will be responsible for coordinating environmental assessments and documentation, preparing detailed reports, and utilizing standard Metropolitan software applications such as Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project. Regular updates and inputs to the Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) system will also be part of your responsibilities, along with other project management initiatives as required.

Work Schedule:
This position follows a 9/80 work schedule, allowing for every other Friday off.

Qualifications:
To qualify for this role, candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field, along with six years of pertinent experience, including two years at the Associate Engineer level. Alternatively, a Master's degree in a related field with four years of relevant experience, including two years at the Associate Engineer level, is acceptable.

Relevant Experience:
Experience should include managing capital projects, leading multidisciplinary project teams, and preparing technical reports and correspondence. Familiarity with design, construction, or project management involving facility upgrades, repairs, and rehabilitations is essential.

Licensing Requirements:
Applicants must hold a valid California Class C Driver's License or equivalent at the time of application, as well as a license in good standing as a California Professional Engineer.
