Employee Benefits Account Specialist

Position Summary
Join a prominent regional insurance brokerage dedicated to providing tailored service. As an Employee Benefits Account Specialist, you will prioritize client needs by directly engaging with them and collaborating with company underwriters on health plan benefits management, network selection, claims handling, and vendor coordination. You will guide accounts through the transition process post-sale, ensuring a smooth setup and ongoing relationship management.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the producer team with account management tasks
- Foster positive relationships and maintain clear communication with clients, carriers, underwriters, and partners
- Establish and oversee timelines for task completion, monitor financial aspects, and request health and welfare plan renewals in preparation for changes, final reviews, implementation, and enrollment
- Prepare RFPs, client presentations, and relevant communications
- Assist clients in navigating employee benefit-related compliance regulations (HIPAA, ERISA, ACA)
Qualifications
- Proficient in all aspects of ACA and healthcare reform
- Strong numerical skills and understanding of general mathematical principles
- 3-5 years of experience in employee benefits, ideally within a retail agency environment
- Experience with Small Group plans is highly preferred
- Possession of a state insurance license or the ability to obtain one within three months of hire
Compensation and Benefits
Offering a competitive salary range of $65,000 to $80,000, plus bonuses, a comprehensive benefits package, and the flexibility to work in a hybrid remote environment.
