Position Summary
The Senior Accountant will manage general accounting functions and ensure the accuracy of financial transactions. Key responsibilities include:
- Performing reconciliations and maintaining the trial balance
- Executing month-end close procedures
- Overseeing general accounting operations and verifying financial transactions
- Reporting to the Director of Financial Reporting.

Primary Responsibilities
- Prepare and record recurring journal entries for month-end and year-end
- Generate accurate accounting reports and present findings
- Maintain the Fixed Asset System, including project management and reconciliations
- Prepare financial reports with variance analysis against budget and prior year
- Assist in the year-end audit process
- Manage prepaid and accrual schedules to ensure accurate period recording
- Support the month-end and year-end closing processes
- Collaborate with various departments during closing periods
- Analyze, investigate, and reconcile general ledger accounts monthly and annually
- Provide assistance to plant and corporate staff on various ad-hoc projects
- Uphold internal controls by adhering to established policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations.

Supervisory Responsibilities
- Oversee 1-2 employees
- Develop and manage departmental budgets while maintaining cost efficiency
- Recruit, select, orient, and train employees, ensuring a safe and legal work environment
- Foster personal growth opportunities for staff.

Qualifications
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 2-4 years of relevant experience
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficient in handling large datasets
- Strong analytical skills with a comprehensive understanding of US GAAP
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office, accounting software, and databases
- CPA designation preferred.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
This role requires sufficient physical ability to operate in a typical office environment, including:
Frequent: Sitting, neck flexion, fine finger dexterity, and moderate lifting (20-35 lbs.)
Occasional: Squatting, kneeling, reaching, and transporting items up to 50 feet.
