Job Summary:

Richland County School District One is seeking a skilled Audiologist to join our team. The successful candidate will provide professional services to screen, identify, evaluate, and facilitate instruction for students with hearing disorders. This is a part-time position that requires a Master's degree in audiology and completion of one year of a clinical fellowship under the supervision of a licensed audiologist, plus six to nine years of experience working with the hearing impaired.

Key Responsibilities:

Evaluates hearing abilities to establish auditory skill development.
Writes evaluation reports and interprets audiological information for educational implications.
Recommends appropriate instructional modifications and accommodations.
Determines hearing function in various communication and learning settings.
Monitors, requests, and manages equipment needs of students identified and placed in a program for students with disabilities.
Selects and fits appropriate assistive amplification devices.
Monitors the proper fit and functioning of hearing aids, cochlear implants, individual and classroom amplification, and assistive listening devices.

Requirements:

Master's degree in audiology and completion of one year of a clinical fellowship under the supervision of a licensed audiologist.
Six to nine years of experience working with the hearing impaired.
Certification to meet State and Southern Association standards.
Licensure as an audiologist.

Working Conditions:

This position requires the ability to exert very moderate physical effort in light work, typically involving some combination of stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and which involves some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (up to 20 pounds). The worker may be subject to danger or risk to a moderate degree and to tension as a regular, consistent part of the job.
