Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Audiologist to join our team at Richland One. As an Audiologist, you will play a vital role in providing professional services to screen, identify, evaluate and facilitate instruction for students with hearing disorders.

Job Description

Under the supervision of the Director or Coordinator, the Audiologist will serve as a member of the educational team in the evaluation, planning and placement process. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating hearing abilities to establish auditory skill development, writing evaluation reports and interpreting audiological information for educational implications, recommending appropriate instructional modifications and accommodations, and determining hearing function in various communication and learning settings.

The Audiologist will also be responsible for monitoring, requesting and managing equipment needs of students identified and placed in a program for students with disabilities, selecting and fitting appropriate assistive amplification devises, monitoring the proper fit and functioning of hearing aids, cochlear implants, individual and classroom amplification, and assistive listening devices, and providing in-service/staff development as requested for district personnel, parents and students.

Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a Master's degree in audiology and completion of one year of a clinical fellowship under the supervision of a licensed audiologist, plus six to nine years of experience working with the hearing impaired, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

The Audiologist must possess certification to meet State and Southern Association standards and must be a licensed audiologist. The successful candidate will also have thorough knowledge of the methods, procedures and policies of the Richland County School District One as they pertain to the performance of duties of the Audiologist, and will be able to make sound, educated decisions and plan and develop daily, short- and long-term goals related to District purposes.
