Grant Program Manager - Research Administration

About the Role

The Grant Program Manager plays a pivotal role in supporting the Transdisciplinary Research Initiative focused on Inflammaging and Brain Aging. This position is responsible for overseeing both Pre and Post Award activities related to grant funding, serving as the primary liaison for faculty across various disciplines. The role encompasses the coordination of collaborative efforts, grant submissions, publications, and all research-related requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Acting as a resource for faculty and staff in the preparation, development, review, and submission of grant proposals and applications. This includes managing the entire grant process from inception to post-award, ensuring effective communication with all relevant central offices.
  • Assisting faculty in understanding award terms and maintaining compliance with sponsor requirements, university policies, and relevant regulations. This involves reviewing funding agency guidelines and advising faculty accordingly.
  • Interpreting financial data to assess past performance and preparing comprehensive financial reports for analysis and forecasting. This includes maintaining documentation related to cost transfers and coordinating invoicing and accounts receivable.
  • Supporting faculty recruitment efforts within the TRIBA Cluster Hire initiative, ensuring accuracy in ePars and managing startup funds, including procurement and HR paperwork.
  • Tracking metrics related to submissions and awards, as well as coordinating meetings for faculty and steering committees as necessary.
  • Performing additional related duties as assigned.


Qualifications

**Required Qualifications:** A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution combined with a minimum of five years of relevant experience in healthcare management and budget oversight, along with experience in grant writing and securing funding; **OR** a Master's degree with a minimum of three years of relevant experience in similar capacities.

**Preferred Qualifications:** Experience with NIH grant applications is highly desirable.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently, with flexibility to accommodate varying hours as required. Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills are essential, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software. A detail-oriented approach with strong multitasking abilities and innovative problem-solving skills is crucial for success in this role.
