Job Summary

This role entails providing administrative and technical management within a cardiorenal research laboratory in the Department of Physiology. The successful candidate will ensure adherence to research protocols and safety regulations, manage laboratory resources, and provide guidance to trainees and research personnel.

Additionally, the position involves data processing, presenting findings, and assisting the Principal Investigator (PI) with ongoing and future research initiatives.


Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate laboratory research activities and instruct staff and students on research methodologies.
  • Oversee administrative and technical arrangements for animal models and maintain relevant records.
  • Conduct animal colony maintenance and perform surgical procedures as required.
  • Assist the PI with the preparation and submission of animal protocols.
  • Perform complex data analysis and prepare findings for further research development.
  • Plan and execute research protocols, ensuring compliance with institutional guidelines.
  • Monitor budgetary resources to facilitate effective laboratory operations.
  • Engage with vendors and administration regarding procurement and financial transactions.
  • Assist the PI with grant application preparations and renewals.
  • Contribute to the writing, editing, and publication of research outcomes.

Qualifications

A Master's degree in a relevant field such as chemistry, biology, or biochemistry, along with research experience, is required. Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of three years of relevant research or clinical experience may be considered.


Skills and Competencies

Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail are crucial for success in this role.
