Overview

The Hermitage Club at Haystack Mountain is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Snowsports Supervisor to oversee and manage our Seasonal Ski and Snowboard Programs for children aged 3-6 (Mountain Yetis) or 7-13 (Mountain Explorers). This key leadership position is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of these programs, as well as the administrative functions of the Snow Sports School.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program Implementation & Oversight
    • Manage day-to-day operations of the Seasonal Programs, ensuring that lessons for children are delivered effectively and meet The Hermitage Club's high standards.
    • Assign students to appropriate groups and coaches, creating a positive and educational experience for all participants.
    • Uphold and promote PSIA-AASI Teaching Methodologies within the program.
    • Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming environment in all facility spaces and meeting areas.
  • Leadership & Staff Management
    • Assist the Snowsports Manager in enforcing program policies and procedures among staff, ensuring consistency and quality in lesson delivery.
    • Supervise and support staff, fostering a positive, collaborative work environment.
    • Assist with administrative tasks, including payroll management, scheduling, and guest services, to ensure smooth operations.
  • Administrative Support
    • Manage and maintain accurate and timely staff scheduling, ensuring adequate coverage for all Snow Sports School activities.
    • Oversee reservations management, ensuring that all bookings are processed efficiently and accurately.
    • Process payroll with precision, ensuring timely and accurate payment for all staff members.
    • Manage member billing, ensuring all charges are processed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Communication & Member Relations
    • Communicate clearly and effectively with students, staff, and member families to ensure smooth program operations.
    • Build strong relationships with member families, acting as a key point of contact and ensuring their satisfaction with the programs.
    • Handle phone and email communications, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly and courteously.
  • Quality Control & Program Management
    • Oversee the quality of the lesson programs, ensuring they meet the club's standards and exceed members' expectations.
    • Assist in managing lesson distribution, reservations, and overall program organization to maintain efficiency and high-quality service.

Qualifications

  • Education & Experience
    • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
    • Minimum of two years' experience as a Snowsports Instructor working for a PSIA-AASI Member School.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
    • Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage both staff and program logistics.
  • Preferred Qualifications
    • PSIA-AASI Level 1 certification or higher.
    • PSIA-AASI Children's Specialist 1 (CS1) certification or higher.
    • Prior experience working with children in a coaching or supervisory capacity.
    • Experience in guest service, reservations management, or related roles.
    • Valid driver's license with no restrictions.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Work Environment
    • Must be able to work outdoors in various winter weather conditions, including exposure to sun, cold, snow, wind, and rain.
    • Regular participation in physically demanding activities such as skiing, snowboarding, walking, and hiking on uneven and slippery terrain.
    • Comfortable working in noisy outdoor environments around snow-making machines, chair lifts, and other equipment.
  • Physical Demands
    • Ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing a minimum of 40 lbs.
    • Ability to operate computer equipment and use electronic office software for extended periods.
    • Ability to sit, bend, reach, and speak for extended periods.
    • Ability to stand, walk, kneel, push, and pull for extended periods.
    • Vision to supervise and monitor participant progress and assess terrain and obstacles.
