Position Overview

The Mary Campbell Center is dedicated to providing a nurturing environment for its 68 residents. Our team is committed to delivering high-quality services that promote respect, personal dignity, and independence for all individuals. The Educational Program Coordinator collaborates with the Education Team to offer tailored educational support aimed at enhancing cognitive growth and achieving personalized learning outcomes.


Key Responsibilities:


  1. Deliver hands-on educational instruction to residents in both individual and group settings, as guided by the Lead Education Specialist.
  2. Engage in brainstorming sessions with an interdisciplinary team to create and implement stimulating programming for residents.
  3. Assist residents in utilizing recommended assistive technology, working closely with the Education Department and therapy consultants.
  4. Evaluate residents' progress objectively and recommend program adjustments to foster learning and achievement.
  5. Maintain accurate documentation of daily progress and quarterly updates on Individual Program Plan (IPP) goals for educational initiatives.
  6. Participate in Interdisciplinary Team meetings and Resident Individual Program Plan discussions as requested.
  7. Collaborate with the Education and Interdisciplinary team to devise motivational strategies for residents requiring additional support.
  8. Provide feedback to the Lead Education Specialist regarding the procurement of educational supplies, materials, and equipment.
  9. Assist residents with technology-related needs and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
  10. Guide and support interns and volunteers as directed by the Education Specialist.
  11. Manage the Snoezelen Room calendar and provide necessary training to residents and staff.
  12. Facilitate programming opportunities for respite and community participants as needed.
  13. Accompany residents on educational outings in the community as directed.
  14. Serve on assigned committees.
  15. Complete all mandatory training sessions and attend staff meetings as required.
  16. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:


The ideal candidate for the Educational Program Coordinator position should possess the following:

  1. A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution, preferably in Education, Special Education, or Human Services.
  2. A compassionate demeanor and a positive attitude towards working with individuals with diverse disabilities.
  3. Experience in supporting special needs populations is preferred.
  4. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  5. Proficiency in utilizing technology tools for effective program management and reporting.
