POSITION TITLE: Human Resources Coordinator

REPORTS TO: Director of Human Resources

Compensation: $27-29 per hour

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Human Resources Coordinator plays a vital role in providing essential administrative support to the Human Resources Department. This position encompasses various responsibilities related to employee management, including onboarding, training, compliance, and recruitment. The HR Coordinator is also the primary point of contact for employee inquiries, feedback, concerns, and suggestions. While not directly managing benefits, savings, and retirement plans, the HR Coordinator facilitates communication between employees and external partners or the HR Director.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Employee Administration: Collaborating with the Director of Human Resources, the HR Coordinator oversees the employee lifecycle from orientation to post-employment, including employment verifications, compliance oversight, status changes, promotions, transfers, separations, and benefits enrollment.
  • Leave of Absence Management: The HR Coordinator administers leave requests, ensuring proper monitoring of eligibility and return-to-work processes.
  • Recruitment and Onboarding Coordination: Assists in the creation and dissemination of recruitment advertisements, collects resumes, and addresses candidate inquiries. Works directly with candidates to gather necessary employment documentation.
  • Initial Candidate Assessments: Conducts preliminary screenings via phone, video, or in-person interviews, evaluating candidate suitability for positions and coordinating further interviews with department leads.
  • Interview Facilitation: Participates in interviews with various administrative levels, providing insights on candidate fit based on established profiles and requirements.
  • Maintenance of Hiring Resources: Keeps HR materials up-to-date, including forms, applications, interview guides, and job descriptions, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards.
  • Recordkeeping: Maintains comprehensive employee and contractor files in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Reporting Obligations: Assists in preparing necessary reports, including EEO-1 Component 1 and other compliance-related documentation.
  • Training Coordination: Organizes training schedules and materials for employee development programs, including orientation and specialized training sessions.
  • Administration of Digital Systems: Plays a key role in maintaining digital systems and processes, ensuring smooth operations across various platforms.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Collaborates with HR team members and organizational leaders to ensure employee compliance with training and health requirements.
  • General Administrative Support: Provides comprehensive administrative assistance to the HR department, including filing, scheduling, and addressing employee concerns.
  • Any additional duties as assigned by the HR Department or other administrative leaders.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred three years of experience in Human Resources.
  • Familiarity with Federal and State employment laws.
  • Knowledge of employee benefit program administration.
  • Experience in managing detailed records.
  • Healthcare industry experience is a plus.
  • Current Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI) certification is required within the first month of employment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This position frequently requires the ability to:

  • Utilize standard office equipment and computer systems.

  • Maintain focus on multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Lift items up to 25 pounds.
