Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, guide, and take responsibility for strategic architecture initiatives, system design, and implementation standards for critical industrial systems within the manufacturing sector.
  • Provide consulting and technology insights to bolster Industry 4.0 and IIOT projects, enhance existing capabilities, or facilitate new advancements.
  • Engage with programs, products, and projects to comprehend manufacturing technology dependencies, foresee risks, and pinpoint opportunities.
  • Contribute expertise in manufacturing to evaluate feasibility and complexity of prospective future projects.
  • Collaborate with Global Supply Chain Engineering and Digital Transformation innovation teams to uncover opportunities for advancements in areas such as Predictive Maintenance, AI/ML, Expert Systems, and Autonomous Manufacturing.
  • Work alongside Global Supply Chain business leadership, IT leaders, and Enterprise Architecture to oversee the manufacturing architecture in alignment with the vision, strategy, and execution to fulfill business needs.
  • Develop a comprehensive view of manufacturing capabilities and processes, utilizing a repeatable approach, cohesive framework, and industry best practices.
  • Be accountable for architectural decisions within the manufacturing domain to support IT/OT convergence.
  • Manage the overarching technology roadmap for the manufacturing domain, ensuring alignment with the overarching business strategy.
  • Facilitate the definition and publication of standards, best practices, capabilities, and a manufacturing roadmap, synchronized with the overall enterprise future state architecture.
  • Offer guidance and recommendations on optimizing business processes and technologies enabled for manufacturing to support a vertically integrated business model.

Qualifications:

Position Requirements:

Formal Education: Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Technology (or equivalent experience). A Master's degree in a related field is advantageous.

Knowledge & Experience:

  • 12+ years of IT experience.
  • 8+ years of IT/OT Systems Architecture experience in a complex manufacturing ecosystem.
  • 4+ years of experience in developing both traditional and cloud-native architectures in support of digital transformation.
  • 5+ years of experience in software development.
  • Familiarity with OT technologies such as PLC, SCADA/DCS platforms, field devices, industrial protocols, Modbus, OPC, MES / PLM, MQTT.
  • Proven ability to assess complex challenges and simplify them into effective solutions focused on key customer needs.
  • Understanding of contemporary technologies, platforms, and development practices to facilitate digital transformation.
  • Experience with modern data integration patterns, techniques, and technologies.
  • Knowledge of architecture and design concepts, capable of establishing and driving long-term technology and application roadmaps.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with message queuing, stream processing, and highly scalable big data tools and technologies.
  • Experience architecting and developing solutions using the Inductive Automation Ignition platform.
