Position Overview:

The selected candidates will engage in a collaborative product team consisting of system owners, developers, and testers. They will facilitate the transition of all Oracle Forms and Reports into Oracle Applications Express (APEX). The software developer will undertake responsibilities that include the analysis, design, coding, unit testing, and documentation/audit checks for assigned system change requests. This migration process will necessitate customized coding (PL/SQL, JavaScript, and APEX) to fulfill end-user specifications. It is essential to ensure that system modifications adhere to established developer guidelines and standards. Candidates will also participate in system requirements reviews, critical design evaluations, test readiness assessments, and pre/post-implementation reviews as part of the defined system development life cycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize expertise to design, develop, code, test, and debug software applications.
  • Engage in various domains, including equipment or software design, engineering evaluation or testing, configuration management, statistical analysis, and modeling.
  • Collaborate with users to define existing or new system objectives and scope.
  • Provide analytical support and technical guidance throughout the conceptualization, development, and implementation phases.
  • Plan and schedule new application systems projects in conjunction with users, systems software, and computer center operations personnel, including the identification of objectives, timelines, costs, and resource requirements.
  • Conduct necessary tasks to identify and document hazards within software systems using various analysis tools and techniques.
  • Review and assess systems and software for compliance with government or commercial directives, standards, guidelines, and criteria related to software safety and systems safety.
  • Ensure that design mitigations are documented and verified in the implementation phase.
  • Engage in basic design, build, or maintenance of software using authoring or scripting languages, content creation tools, management tools, and digital media.
  • Identify issues uncovered by testing or customer feedback and implement solutions.
  • Evaluate code to ensure validity, adherence to industry standards, and compatibility with devices or operating systems.

Required Skills:

  • 8+ years of software development experience is essential.
  • Experience with Oracle Applications Express (APEX) is required; familiarity with Oracle Forms and Reports is advantageous.
  • Advanced proficiency in Oracle PL/SQL.
  • Experience with Oracle DBMS – 12c or higher.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript.
  • Experience with APEX Office Print (AOP) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Agile System Development Life Cycle methodologies is required.
  • Knowledge of HTML.
  • Understanding of IT Service Management practices is beneficial.
  • Strong interpersonal and consultative skills.
  • Excellent documentation and communication abilities.
