Job Overview:
The Power Systems Electrical Engineer is tasked with performing electrical power systems evaluations and assessments for both industrial and utility sectors. By employing industry-standard analytical software, the ideal candidate will develop study scenarios, interpret findings, and produce comprehensive written documentation. A solid foundational knowledge of industrial and utility power systems along with calculation techniques is essential.

Key Responsibilities:
The Power Systems Electrical Engineer will work closely with clients and Nexus personnel to conduct a variety of studies, including but not limited to:
  • Short Circuit Analysis
  • Relay Coordination Assessment
  • Load Flow Studies
  • Power System Harmonics Evaluation
  • Motor Starting Analysis
  • Arc Flash Risk Assessment
  • Relay Setting File Development & Review
Reporting to the Senior Electrical Engineer or Engineering Discipline Manager, the engineer will present completed technical analyses to senior management before sharing insights with clients.

Travel Requirements:
This position may necessitate occasional travel to client sites for data collection.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is mandatory
- Proficiency in ETAP software is essential
- Familiarity with additional analysis tools such as SKM is advantageous
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in power systems analysis
- Strong command of Excel and other Microsoft Office applications

Education/Certification:
A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required.

Work Schedule:
This is a full-time role with standard work hours from Monday to Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required based on project demands.
