Position Overview:

The Software Developer will be an integral part of a collaborative product team comprising system owners, developers, and testers. The primary focus will be on transitioning all existing Oracle Forms and Reports into Oracle Applications Express (APEX). This role encompasses the analysis, design, coding, unit testing, and documentation/audit checks for assigned system change requests. The migration process will necessitate tailored coding in PL/SQL, JavaScript, and APEX to fulfill end-user requirements. It is crucial to ensure that system modifications adhere to established developer guidelines and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize expertise to design, develop, code, test, and debug software applications.
  • Engage in various areas, including software design, engineering evaluation, configuration management, and statistical analysis.
  • Collaborate with users to define the scope and objectives of existing or new systems.
  • Provide analytical support and technical guidance throughout the conceptualization, development, and implementation phases.
  • Plan and schedule new application systems projects, identifying objectives, timelines, costs, and resource requirements.
  • Conduct necessary tasks to identify and document hazards within software systems using various analytical tools and techniques.
  • Review and assess systems and software for compliance with governmental or commercial standards regarding software and systems safety.
  • Ensure design mitigations are documented and verify their implementation.
  • Perform basic design, construction, or maintenance of software using various authoring or scripting languages.
  • Identify and rectify issues uncovered through testing or customer feedback.
  • Evaluate code to ensure it meets industry standards and is compatible with various devices or operating systems.

Required Skills:

  • 8+ years of experience in software development.
  • Experience with Oracle Applications Express (APEX) is essential; familiarity with Oracle Forms and Reports is advantageous.
  • Advanced skills in Oracle PL/SQL.
  • Experience with Oracle DBMS version 12c or higher.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with APEX Office Print (AOP) is a plus.
  • Experience with Agile System Development Life Cycle methodologies is required.
  • Knowledge of HTML.
  • Understanding of IT Service Management practices is beneficial.
  • Strong interpersonal and consultative skills.
  • Exceptional documentation and communication abilities.
  • Self-motivated with the capability to inspire others.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Able to follow complex instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
