Senior Community Program Assistant Position at Archdiocese of Philadelphia

Position: Senior Community Program Assistant

The Archdiocese of Philadelphia is looking for a Senior Community Program Assistant to support its initiatives aimed at enhancing the lives of older adults. This role is essential in facilitating the planning, execution, and documentation of engaging educational, social, recreational, and health-oriented activities for members of a vibrant senior community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design, organization, execution, and assessment of activities for senior center participants, including those engaging remotely.
  • Lead specific activities as required.
  • Support the maintenance of attendance records for various activities.
  • Help with the organization and distribution of food resources at the center.
  • Keep the Center Manager informed about developments and any issues that arise.
  • Provide assistance with administrative tasks as necessary.
  • Ensure the confidentiality of participant information is upheld.

Qualifications and Skills

Education

  • A minimum of an Associate's degree or equivalent qualification.

Experience and Skills

  • At least two years of additional education or experience in a relevant field is required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and capable of performing data entry tasks.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms is advantageous.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, lift, and move intermittently throughout the workday.
  • Must be capable of lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.

Language Proficiency

  • Fluency in both Polish and English, both written and spoken, is preferred.
