Reliability and Maintenance Specialist (Engineer.Maintenance.III)

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leverage data analytics, condition assessment, and maintenance evaluations to assess and convey the status, dependability, and operational readiness of NOV's offerings within Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM) initiatives.
  • Facilitate the success of CBM initiatives by providing support to the Program Manager (PGM) and Project Manager (PM) as a reliable advisor. Proactively initiate risk assessments and manage mitigation processes beyond the domains of PGM and PM, including interactions with product groups and suppliers.
  • Engage with Product Engineering to ensure organization-wide backing for reliability, maintainability, and design considerations of both existing and new products throughout their entire lifecycle.
  • Contribute insights to identify risks related to reliability, as well as other operational risks that may negatively impact performance.
  • Collaborate with Corporate teams to develop engineering solutions for asset management, data collection, failure analysis, and other factors that could hinder operations.
  • Partner with the Maintenance & Reliability Engineering Manager to define and implement departmental processes and ensure ongoing improvements.
  • Execute additional work-related tasks as assigned.
  • Adhere to all NOV Company and Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
Facility/Group Specific Responsibilities:
  • Drive enhancements in equipment maintenance to boost reliability and availability.
  • Possess prior experience with Marine Riser systems.
  • Assume responsibility, communicate effectively, and oversee design enhancements on NOV equipment as a Maintenance & Reliability Subject Matter Expert (SME), utilizing data, field results, and customer feedback.
  • Propose and contribute to engineering solutions aimed at preventing recurrent or critical failures, initiating and participating in Root Cause Analysis.
  • Develop technical and equipment reliability strategies, requirements, inspection, and certification scopes.
  • Assist PGM/PM in translating Class, Standard (ISO), OEM, and maintenance product requirements into actionable plans.
  • Review and authorize certification requirements for equipment involved in programs.
  • Create certification templates that link requirements for data, models, and tolerances to streamline the certification process.
  • Establish prioritized requirements for the development and configuration of analytical software modules as directed by program needs.
  • Evaluate the quality and value of automating manual inspection methods, including enhancements in instrumentation, tracking, communication, or overall cost considerations.
  • For approved Research and Development cases, initiate and coordinate necessary developments and certifications.
  • Collaborate with responsible Engineers and product owners, as well as the Standardization group and other NOV departments, to ensure the quality of essential information and documentation for program execution.
  • Review and manage program feedback, creating continuous feedback loops between internal and external organizations.
  • Achieve agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a Technical/Engineering Apprenticeship. (Essential)
  • Certification as a CMRP or a documented understanding of maintenance principles, management, and execution preferred. (Desired)
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Lead Engineering roles, Technical Project Management, or field experience as a Maintenance Lead/Supervisor or Maintenance Manager. (Desired)
  • Experience with Research and Development and improvement processes preferred. (Desired)
  • Strong analytical, systematization, and conceptualization skills for complex technical information. (Essential)
  • Excellent communication skills to express, present, and advocate recommendations. (Essential)
  • Willingness to travel regionally or internationally as required. (Desired)
