Position Summary

The Supply Chain division is a customer-centric Center of Excellence, delivering exceptional service and value. As a key member of our Supply Chain team, you will be instrumental in enhancing our North American rail logistics operations. This role involves overseeing the maintenance and reliability program for a substantial railcar fleet, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the implementation and management of the maintenance and reliability program for the tank and hopper railcar fleet.
  • Collaborate with the Rail Maintenance Team, Manufacturing, Technical Services, Compliance, and external vendors to achieve business goals.
  • Utilize data analysis techniques to develop engineering solutions for recurring failures and operational challenges.
  • Create tools for tracking, analyzing, and reporting on railcar reliability metrics.
  • Manage specifications for tank car modifications based on regulatory requirements and engineering improvements.
  • Gather insights from supply chain stakeholders to provide technical guidance during the onboarding of new railcars.
  • Work with colleagues to develop solutions for rail logistics and maintenance challenges.
  • Establish Preventive and Predictive Maintenance Plans and associated procedures.
  • Enhance measurement systems to improve reliability and proactive initiatives.
  • Support the development of Long-Range Plans, identifying critical equipment and mitigation strategies.
  • Lead interdisciplinary teams focused on reliability improvements.
  • Conduct incident investigations to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage risks associated with asset capability, performance, and quality.
  • Promote adherence to corporate and industry standards.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Experience: A minimum of 5-10 years in Reliability and/or Maintenance engineering within the manufacturing sector. Proficiency in analyzing large datasets and conveying findings effectively is essential. Strong presentation skills and the ability to influence stakeholders are required.

Preferred Skills: Familiarity with the Rail Industry and rail maintenance practices is advantageous. A focus on innovation, collaboration, and results-driven processes is desired.
