Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert technical support for our EDM/CNC machining operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, maintenance, and quality assurance, to enhance existing machining processes and troubleshoot operational challenges.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing safety, quality, delivery, and productivity metrics.
  • Support current production components by taking ownership of EDM cells, ensuring proper machine qualification, troubleshooting, and documentation.
  • Establish process parameters for new products entering production.
  • Analyze performance data to identify opportunities for process and product enhancements.
  • Optimize machining toolpaths and drilling parameters to achieve high efficiency and quality.
  • Plan projects, manage budgets, and evaluate return on investment to align with operational goals.
  • Work effectively with diverse teams to achieve organizational objectives.
  • Define critical quality parameters and collaborate with manufacturing to ensure optimal EDM process performance.
  • Assess new tooling capabilities and adapt existing tools for new product requirements.
  • Develop and maintain process capability and control, ensuring repeatability and stability through effective management methods.
  • Familiarize yourself with the Silfex Quality Management System and adhere to established quality and operational procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or a master's degree with at least 6 years of experience.
  • Proven ability to solve complex problems in a collaborative environment.
  • Strong background in statistical analysis and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE).
  • Experience in developing control plans and procedures.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications accurately.
  • Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with quality assurance tools and techniques used in manufacturing.
  • Ability to analyze data effectively to identify and resolve issues.
  • Experience with machining silicon or similar materials is advantageous.
  • Proficient in project planning and budget management to meet operational objectives.
