Job Overview

The ideal candidate for this role will be instrumental in enhancing our EDM/CNC machining operations. This position involves collaborating with various teams to refine existing processes, troubleshoot challenges, and introduce new machining applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert technical support for EDM/CNC machining operations.
  • Work closely with operations, maintenance, and quality teams to optimize machining processes and resolve issues.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.
  • Support current production parts by offering technical leadership in EDM cells, ensuring machine qualification and troubleshooting.
  • Establish process parameters for new components introduced to production.
  • Analyze machine performance data to identify opportunities for process and product enhancements.
  • Optimize toolpaths and drilling parameters to achieve efficient and high-quality machining results.
  • Plan projects, create budgets, and evaluate Return on Investment to align with Annual Operating Plans.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet organizational objectives.
  • Define critical quality process parameters and work with manufacturing to ensure optimal EDM process performance.
  • Assess new tool capabilities and adapt existing tools for new product processing.
  • Develop and maintain process capability and control through effective management methods.
  • Familiarize with the Silfex Quality Management System and adhere to Quality Procedures and Operating Procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or a master's degree with at least 6 years of experience.
  • Proven experience in problem-solving within complex systems alongside cross-functional teams.
  • Strong knowledge of statistical analysis tools and methodologies.
  • In-depth understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE).
  • Experience in developing control plans and procedures.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing processes and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with quality assurance tools and methods for manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment with diverse teams.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills for problem definition and data analysis.
  • Experience with machining silicon or similar materials is advantageous.

Physical Requirements:
